Joamgcd, creator of the AutoApps suite of Tasker plugins has begun, readying them for the change in APIs Android N brings to the game. So far AutoNotification and AutoInput have received updates, however due to Google not allowing the publishing of Android N apps to the Play Store yet, you’ll have to grab the APKs from the links below or from his site here for now.
AutoNotification allows you to create custom notifications that can also perform complex actions. These are simple to generate and with the latest update can even include adding complex commands to quick access tiles. Just a few of the examples he gives in his changelog are layout bounds and Profile GPU rendering toggles, app launching, URL launching. In the video below he even sets up a toggle for his TV. For each tile you are able to customise the icon, label, status and command.
With the added ability to reply to notifications from the notification tray you can also configure commands directly to the text entry field which opens them up to a world of new possibilities, type a song into a music notification to play that song, type a note as a reminder or send commands to your IoT devices.
AutoInput can now call upon accessibility services to fully control any screen input that you could perform with your fingers! This includes swipes, pinches and rotations which were all previously impossible in the plugin. Check out the video below for an example.
