Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ Shown Off in 3D Renders with 3.5mm Headphone Jack

In recent weeks, the rumor mill has revealed quite a few pieces of information relevant to Samsung's upcoming 2018 flagships: the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+. We know that they won't have an in-display fingerprint sensor and their fingerprint sensors could be supplied by Egistec. Other reports have stated that they may have a higher screen-to-body ratio, and they may have improved iris scanners. Leaks have also revealed their likely color options, and Evan Blass has leaked most of their specifications. The most recent rumor states that the S9 and S9+ may be announced by Samsung on February 27.

Now, @OnLeaks has posted factory CAD-based renders and 360-degree videos of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the S9+ in collaboration with 91mobiles and MySmartPrice. @OnLeaks has proved to have a reliable track record when it comes to leaks in the past, so it does seem that the final versions of the Galaxy S9 and S9+ are accurately depicted in the CAD renders. Regardless, it's best to keep some level of skepticism right until the official launch.

91mobiles obtained exclusive factory CAD-based renders and a 360-degree video of the Galaxy S9 in collaboration with @OnLeaks. The renders show that the Galaxy S9 has a similar design to the Galaxy S8. There are still a few notable differences, though. The fingerprint sensor's off-centered placement has been corrected, as it is now placed under the camera in a centered layout. Also, the heart rate sensor has been moved to the right side of the camera.

The port layout for the Galaxy S9 is the same as the S8, with the USB Type-C port, speaker, volume rocker, power, and Bixby button all being placed in their respective locations. The device will also have a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is good news for its audience.

91mobiles states that the dimensions of the phone are likely to be 147.6 x 68.7 x 8.4mm. The Galaxy S9's bottom bezel will probably be 0.1mm thinner than the one on the S8. The CAD renders also confirm that the Galaxy S9 will feature a single rear camera.

@OnLeaks also posted CAD renders and a 360-degree video of the Galaxy S9+ on behalf of MySmartPrice. The S9+ features the same design language as the S9, and is said to measure 157.7 x 73.8 x 8.5mm. The top and bottom bezels are said to be 0.1mm thinner than on the Galaxy S8+. The only difference between the design of the Galaxy S9+ and the Galaxy S9 is the camera, as the S9+ has dual rear cameras. The renders also confirm that Samsung will retain the iris scanner.

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ are said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 system-on-chip for the US market, and by the Exynos 9810 for international markets. The S9 is expected to come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, and it may have a 6GB RAM variant as well. The S9+ on the other hand will have 6GB of RAM with 64GB of storage. The devices are likely to launch with Android Oreo out of the box.

Samsung is said to have started mass production of the S9 and S9+. If the rumor of the February 27 launch is correct, we expect to see more leaks in the two months leading up to the official launch event.
