Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) Edition Confirmed Specs, Three Storage and RAM Options

Samsung's mid-range and low-end smartphones in the last year or two —  the J2 series, for example — have been pretty decent, with good specs for good prices. And increasingly, the Galaxy A8+ 2018 is shaping up to be no different.

On Monday, SamMobile reported that Samsung's upcoming Galaxy A8+ series will ship in three different storage and RAM configurations: one with 32GB of storage and 4GB of RAM, one with 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM, and one with 64GB of storage and 6GB of RAM. All three will reportedly have 6-inch Full HD AMOLED displays, and they'll pack Samsung's octa-core Exynos 7885, with two high-performance cores and six low-performance cores. Bluetooth 5.0 might be onboard, too, as will a quick charge-compatible 3,500 mAh battery.

On the camera front, the Galaxy A8+ 2018 apparently takes the unique approach of sticking a dual camera module on the front rather than the back. It's reportedly a 16MP and 8MP shooter, while the back camera is a single 16MP camera.

All Galaxy A8+ 2018 smartphones will launch with Android Nougat 7.1.1, according to SamMobile, with an upgrade to Android Oreo to come later on, and they'll ship with Samsung's Experience UX 8.5 skin.

Not much has been heard about the regular, non-plus-sized Galaxy A8 2018, which is expected to ship alongside the A8 2018 in the coming weeks. But the specs expected to be in line with its big brother –  albeit with variations in battery, screen size, and storage.

We're hoping to see the A8+ 2018 ship sometime in 2018, and most likely at a pretty decent price.
