This was because phone screen sizes were exploding (to a whopping 4.3″ if you consider the HTC EVO 4G and Motorola Photon) and adding a built-in stand could make video watching and other media consumption so enjoyable! Well, fast forward a bit, and this trend has gone away entirely, despite phone screen sizes growing another 30%+ if you consider the phablets of today that are around 5.7″. But wouldn’t it be sweet if you could Netflix and chill with your Nexus 6P or Note 5 without propping your phone up on your kitty?
